Joseph Attieh

Joseph Attieh (in Arabic جوزيف عطية, born May 14, 1986 in Mehmarch, Batroun, Lebanon) is a Lebanese singer who won the third season of Star Academy Lebanon in 2005 after winning 55% of the vote, becoming the first Lebanese candidate to win the reality talent show. In addition to the title, Joseph won $50,000 and a car.
==Career==
Attieh was raised in Byblos, Lebanon and was a student specializing in radio and TV production. He also played guitar, nai and piano.
After winning Star Academy, he released his first single "La Trouhi!" (Don't Go! in English) in 2006. It was written by Nicolas Saadé Nakhleh and the video clip directed by Emile Sleilaty. It topped the charts in Lebanon and other Middle-Eastern countries.〔(Top 100 Arabic Songs for 2006 ). Arabicnights.com.au (February 23, 2008). Retrieved on 2011-07-31.〕 He followed it up with "Nahlé" (The Bee) in 2007, based on a dabké. He also travelled abroad for tours including trip to Australia in 2007 with several concerts alongside of Nawal Al Zoghbi. He also traveled to the United States for further gigs.
His third single was "Habayt Aayounak" (I love your eyes) which he debuted in a performance on Star Academy 5 prime. He toured Australia again this time with Carole Samaha. In May 2008, he was featured in a concert in downtown Beirut singing "El Hak Ma Bi Mout" (The Truth Does Not Die) and dedicated to Lebanon. The song included a music video. He also starred in a Lebanese sitcom called ''Jeeran'' (Arabic:جيران Neighbors). The idea was that of Roula Saad and Mona Tayeh wrote the script. The sitcom was broadcast for one season on LBC. Tina Yammout, Ahmad Dawoud, Ali Saad, Marwa Bin Sghayar, Sally, Fadi Andraous, Shayma Hilali, Khalifah Salem and Imed Jalouli from Star Academy 3 and 4 also had parts in the show. He released his debut album, ''Mawhoum'', in February 2010..
